Let’s learn about diversity!
一般社団法人JSIEでは、小学校の生徒の皆さんに、楽しみながら多様性について英語で学ぶワークショップを開催します。イギリスからきたケイトリン先生と一緒に、放課後の時間に楽しく英語で話しませんか。本プログラムはGreat Britain Sasakawa Foundationの助成を受けております。
We think it is crucial to develop sensitivity and acceptance to those who are racially or ethnically diverse. The workshops aims for students to appreciate and respect those who have different backgrounds, unique interests and cultures. We welcome students of all nationalities who desire to communicate with others. Please join us!

During obon, Japanese people remember their ancestors. Other cultures do this too, but in different ways! Let’s learn about these similar events, and appreciate the unique traditions.

Ms. Cait:
After graduating from Keele University (UK) in 2016, with a BA in Criminology with Japanese, She is now working as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) in Kumamoto City, Japan.
Through a strong interest in community involvement and service to others, she has held roles such as ALT project manager, international student peer mentor, volunteer at community justice centres & police stations, along with time as a police cadet. She is also an initiated member of the Chi Omega women’s fraternity (Chi Zeta chapter).
She joined JSIE after attending the Kumamoto WISE Special in 2019. With JSIE’s support, she is currently working to develop a pioneering project, designed to detect abuse & neglect within Japanese school children.
