JSIE helps people unlock their full potential to promote social change with the cutting edge of technological innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. We promote empowerment of women and younger generations and raises an awareness, thereby building a society that all of us can participate in together. To achieve this goal, JSIE organizes summer program called “Women’s Initiative for Sustainable Empowerment (WISE)“, and is designed to promote leadership toward innovative solutions against various social problems, issues or challenges.
Beppu WISE 2019 Program
Under the keywords “Global x Inclusive x Leadership,” we worked together to create an inclusive society where people from different background can maximize their potential. Beppu WISE is hosted by Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. We all know that challenges we face everyday are closely connected to SDGs or social problems, that can turned into (social) business ideas. Participants from the U.S., India, Indonesia, Thailand, Puerto Rico, Kumamoto, Korea, Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and others joined Beppu WISE and shaped ideas into plans!
Kumamoto WISE 2019 Program
Kumamoto WISE was held during May 18-19, 2019, aiming to shape ideas into actionable project plans. Under the theme of “Creating New Social Values for Sustainable Communities,” Kumamoto WISE is specially organized by JSIE with collaboration of Kumamoto Prefecture, to provide opportunity to individuals for shaping ideas into actionable project plans. Kumamoto people continue to face challenges caused by devastating earthquake; however, it means we have great chances to create new social values by turning such challenges into (social) business ideas. Participants came from Tokyo, Chiba, Hiroshima, Saga, Kagoshima, and Kumamoto. They explored various style of leadership through group works to bring women and younger generations in action.
Kyoto WISE 2018 Program
2018 WISE Summer Program was held in Kyoto during August 25-26, 2018. The keywords for 2018 are “Global x Inclusive” and how we can create inclusive society where people from different background can participate and play respective roles. We all know that challenges we face everyday are closely connected to social problems, that can be turned into (social) business ideas. Collaborating with Impact Hub Kyoto, JSIE provided opportunities to shape such ideas into plans through group work and to learn leadership styles to bring people in action.
WISE 2017 Program
Collaborating with Google Japan, 2017 WISE Summer Program was held in Google Japan Tokyo during September 2-3, 2017. aimed to shape ideas into actionable project plans. We all know that challenges we face everyday are closely connected to social problems, linking to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) identified by the United Nations. JSIE provided opportunities to shape ideas into plans through group work and to learn various types of leadership and communication skills.
WISE 2016 Program
2016 WISE Summer Program aimed to shape ideas into actionable project plans. Under the theme of “encouraging women’s initiative in solving social issues through startup business”, fellows participated during July 1 – 3rd, by bringing business ideas and identifying possible solutions, so that they will eventually developing these ideas into practical and sustainable services or products.
WISE 2015 Program
In 2015, under the theme of “to be independent thinker and execute with confidence,” JSIE organized Women’s Initiative for Summer Empowerment program (WISE) 2015 at Roppongi Academy Hills during August 1-3rd 2015, to implement an awareness raising programs in professional education bringing renowned practitioners and thought leaders. Sixty WISE Fellows joined group discussions and seminars led by distinguished lecturers and speakers.
